Conditions of Site

Located on Koxinga's Shrine, this site is an ancient monument in Tainan. The interior space is redesigned with the transparency of the original construction. We take advantages of interior height and the graceful surroundings to create the exhibit place.

位於台南市市定古蹟延平郡王祠內，應用建物結構物原有的通透感重新規劃內部的使用，展示空間利用原有內部挑高的優點及原有基地內的優雅懷境加以延續及塑造。

Traditional San-he-yuan

The original plane arrangement is similar to Chinese traditional residential architecture, San-he-yuan. The whole construction is U-shaped and surrounds a central square.

把空間純化作為歷史的長廊，以類地境的意境展現民族文物，以光廊、挑空空間感塑造出新穎且流暢的古文物展示空間。

Segmentation

A 210cm high oblique wall segments the original U-shape-space at the first and second floor. The space is divided into a public exhibition area, café and working area. Therefore, the original space has been redesigned. In order to make the gallery space less stressful and more visual transparency, the row of showcases is hanged by cable.

Retain and Empty

The vertical circulation, like emergency ladders, lavatories and so on, are arranged at two sides of the building. In the second step of the interior planning for this project, these space arrangements are remained and combined with the rest space in the circulation; hence the two sides of the building will be retained and not be over focused.

Design Concept

The space is sublimated into a historical corridor, displaying the period pieces in the concept of landform. It also utilizes the light gallery and atrium extensity to model a novel and fluid exhibition for ancient relics.

Space Sculpture

Day lighting and precision-controlled artificial lighting interact appropriately in the space. New objects will slip into the atmosphere of space by the transformation of materials and space gradations.

人工光源與自然光源在空間中交舞，透過材質的轉換及空間的層次，新加入的物體將成為一道崁入歷史的意像。
